April day, Macheng see azalea. Azaleas, also known as rhododendrons, bloom in late April to early May. The 100,000 mu original ecological ancient rhododendrons on Guifeng Mountain in Macheng, Hubei Province, are known as "the most beautiful red streamer on Dabie Mountain" and "the largest ancient rhododendron community in the world".

Now, a new highway leads to the gate of the scenic spot. Guifeng Mountain Scenic Spot of Hubei Jiaotou Dabie Mountain Company is warmly welcoming tourists from all over the country with a new look and open arms.

In October 2016, Guifeng Mountain Scenic Spot passed the national landscape quality expert evaluation, and officially got the admission ticket to create a national 5A scenic spot, becoming the first scenic spot in eastern Hubei to enter the ranks of 5A.

To this end, in recent years, Hubei Investment Dabiishan Company invested 510 million yuan to build the Guifeng Mountain branch line, but also invested more than 500 million yuan, the Guifeng Mountain scenic area infrastructure construction, quality upgrading. In accordance with the national 5A scenic spot creation standards and relevant requirements, Hubei Jiaotong Dabishan Company completed 113 specific project construction tasks in 6 aspects of the 5A creation responsibility list of Guifeng Mountain scenic spot, and realized the comprehensive upgrading of infrastructure, tourism transportation, smart tourism, signs and cultural construction in the scenic spot.

Before, Guifeng Mountain scenic spot belongs to the resource scenic spot, the core landscape only rhododendron. Due to the limited flowering time, coupled with the weather, climate and other impacts, the tourism products are single, one season tour is more obvious.

Today, visitors can enjoy the outdoors as well as the flowers. Hubei Jiao Tou Dabie Mountain Company invested 80 million yuan, introduced the net array forest climbing, mountain off-road vehicle, New Zealand scooter and other tourist experience projects, built the Guaya International outdoor sports camp. At the same time, the scenic spot has introduced the cooperation project of the Sino-French Institute for Mountain Tourism Development, and gradually built an international youth camp and an international demonstration base for outdoor research through study Tours, research trips, winter camps and summer camps.
