Guifeng Mountain scenic spot is located at the southern foot of the middle part of Dabie Mountain, at the junction of Hubei, Henan and Anhui provinces, 27 kilometers away from Macheng city, with a total area of 73.8 square kilometers.

Guifeng Mountain is composed of nine peaks, including the magical turtle head, the majestic turtle back and the clever turtle tail, and is named for its resemblance to a god turtle who swallows the sun. Guifeng Mountain has a series of 100,000 mu of ancient rhododendron community, its large area, a long time, high density, pure varieties, flowers and beauty, rare in China. Guifeng Mountain cuckoo sea is the most beautiful red streamer at 30 degrees north latitude; Scenic area beautiful scenery, beautiful environment, fresh air, forest coverage of up to 95%, enjoy the "green treasure house" and "natural oxygen bar" reputation. Guifeng Mountain Scenic Area is the core of the Dabie Mountain World Geological Park, the national ecological tourism demonstration area, the national forest health base pilot construction unit, the national land resources science base.

In October 2016, Guifeng Mountain Scenic Spot passed the 5A scenic spot landscape quality review. In October 2021, the Ninth Party Congress of Macheng City made a total deployment to promote the creation of Guifeng Mountain scenic spot into a national 5A tourist attraction, the Macheng City government wrote the 5A creation work into the government work report, and the Guifeng Mountain Scenic spot was created according to the 5A tourist attraction creation standard. Vigorously carry out the "six actions" of facility filing, service improvement, environmental quality improvement, safety improvement, management efficiency improvement, and cultural improvement, and comprehensively improve the environment and service quality of scenic spots. More than 10 key projects, such as the new Hu-rong high-speed Guifeng Mountain spur line, international sports Turtle Valley, 1288 sightseeing tower, continue to promote the environmental improvement of scenic spots, improve the fire protection pipe network, and launch spring flower viewing, summer summer, autumn mountaineering, winter skiing four seasons tourism products.

In 2023, Guifeng Mountain Scenic spot will receive 1.1 million tourists, directly driving more than 8,000 people in the scenic spot to take the express train of tourism development, achieve income and wealth through employment and entrepreneurship, sales of agricultural and forestry products, and provide tourist services, and eat the "tourist meal". Guifeng Mountain scenic spot drives the vigorous development of Macheng's global tourism. In 2023, the number of tourists in the city reached 13.5 million, and the comprehensive tourism income was 7.9 billion yuan.
