Yanmen Village:
The hill is located on the left side of Guanguanao Highway, about 1.6 kilometers west of Guitou. It is made of stones and has a total area of 1.3 square kilometers. It is named after the original owner of the village, Bao Yanmen. The main peak has an elevation of 857 meters. With the winding terrain, stone walls are built, winding for several kilometers, standing tall and majestic. It has been a battleground for military strategists since ancient times and has become a famous ancient battlefield.
According to the "Macheng County Annals", during the Spring and Autumn Period, Wu Chu fought at the fortress of Baiju (now Guishan), which became a battlefield. Chen Yucheng, a general of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, also trained his troops on this mountain and repeatedly attacked the Qing army. Yanmen Fortress is surrounded by cliffs on three sides, making it easy to defend but difficult to attack. It is a place where 'one man holds the pass, and ten thousand men cannot open it'. It is said that the king of Tang failed to break his first siege for half a month. Because the two deputies, Qinglong and Hulu, who guarded the stronghold were brave and resourceful, they threw Congee in the stronghold to the Tang army to feed pigs. The Tang army mistakenly believed that there was enough food in the stronghold and dared not attack hastily, so they had to withdraw to Zhoujiagang. Later, when white geese flew out of the village, they realized that the water was running out and the geese were flying. The village was short of water and they broke through the fortress for the second time. Due to the large number of murders and rivers of blood flowing, the deep ditch at the foot of the mountain was called Blood Gully and now renamed Black Gully. As Yanmen Village faces Guitou from afar, visitors to Guifeng Mountain must climb Yanmen Village to witness the ancient battlefield and gaze up at the "rising sun of Guifeng". Every three to five days before and after the autumnal equinox, people stand at the waist of Yanmen Village to watch the sunrise. They can see a clear sky with a red sun hanging like a bright pearl on the glans, giving a feeling of the rising sun on the peak of the turtle. The rising sun in the sky is like thousands of golden lights rippling through the water, colorful and becoming the top of the Three Stations and Eight Scenic Spots in Macheng.
