Dabie Mountains is known as "the hometown of the Red Army" and "the cradle of generals". The Guifeng Mountain Scenic Spot, located at the southern foot of the middle section of the Dabie Mountains and in Macheng, the old revolutionary base area, is not only a Red tourism scenic spot with deep cultural history.

The provincial patriotism education base built by Guifeng Mountain Scenic Area is planned to be a patriotism education exhibition hall with the theme of "Dabie Mountains Spirit". Dig the red resources in the Guifeng Mountain area, inherit the red culture, promote the all-round development of Red tourism resorts, and carry forward the spirit of Dabie Mountains.

The Dabie Mountains Spiritual Red Culture Exhibition Hall displays a series of revolutionary events and revolutionary heroic deeds that took place in Macheng and surrounding areas from the founding of the CPC in 1921 to the founding of New China in 1949. Entering the museum, listen to the narrator explain heartwarming red stories, relive the history of the Party, and remember the glorious tradition of the Party.

As a patriotism education base in Huanggang City and one of the first national defense education bases in Macheng City, Guifeng Mountain Scenic Area has well-known red relics: the inscription of Old Dong, the stone inscription of "Anti Japanese War Resort", the stone inscription of "Swallowing the Sun", etc. The red culture is deep, the foundation is thick, and the Red tourism resources are also rich.
