Guifeng Mountain, located at the south foot of the middle Dabie Mountains, is a revolutionary mountain. The 28th Red Army, which played an important role in the history of China's revolutionary war, was born in this hot land. Liu Deng's army fought here too.

Today, as the "Huanggang Patriotic Education Base" in the revolutionary hot land of Guifeng Mountain, there are still some historical impressions such as Dong Lao's inscriptions, "Anti-Japanese War Place" and "Swallowing Japan" stone inscriptions for tourists to visit and admire, and accept the spiritual baptism.

"Yuxiu Zhongling" Stone Carving

On the left side of the stone carving in the "Anti-Japanese War" area, there is a stone carving named "Yuxiu Zhongling". The stone inscription has the character of "factory". The upper part of the stone inscribes "Yuxiu Zhongling" horizontally from right to left. On the left side, a line is inscribed vertically from top to bottom as "Li Zhuzhong, Principal of Macheng Middle School in the end of the thirty-second year of the Republic of China in winter", sufficiently indicating that it was left by Mr. Li Zhuzhong, then Principal of Macheng County Junior Middle School. 。 The Macheng Middle School mentioned in the stone carvings is the predecessor of the No. 1 Middle School in Macheng, Hubei Province.

Speaking of this, you may wonder: What is the connection between Macheng High School and Guifeng Mountain? In fact, there is a historical story here. On August 15, 1938, after the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, Macheng County was bombed by Japanese aircraft. At that time, the campus of Macheng Middle School was destroyed. The county decided to relocate the school site to Cheng's ancestral temple in Guitouhe Village. Zhong Shao, then County governor, was also the director of the branch and Li Zhuzhong was the principal. Later, the Japanese invaders occupied the Turtle River and relocated the middle school to Turtle Tail.

Dong Biwu's inscription

On the upper left of the stone carving of Yuxiu Zhongling, there is an inscription by Dong Biwu, successive Vice-Chairmen of the People's Republic of China. In May 1962, Chairman Dong Biwu and his wife visited the Guishan Tea Ground and came to the Anti-Japanese Stone Carvings to remember the martyrs. For this reason, he improvised poems and said, "Guerrilla areas in the past are now tea-producing areas. Turtle Peak is famous for a long time. Yuling De is not alone.
