Mother Turtle swallowed the sun

Long, long ago, there was a mother, a son and two tortoises at the foot of the Dabie Mountains. The tortoise was executed by the Emperor of Heaven in order to control the floods under heaven.

After the death of the tortoise, the nine sons of the Emperor of Heaven, namely the nine suns, invited their partners to run out of the heaven, playing and playing all over the sky, causing the world to jump chickens and dogs. They also sent out a golden arrow, shooting directly to cut off the river and the land.

When the mother learned of her son's death, she cried dimly, and the tears she shed turned into a crooked river, the "Turtle Head River" at the foot of Mt. Turtle Peak in Macheng.

Mother Tortoise cried her heart out, but the nine suns played with pride and oblivion. Although the Yellow River and the Yangtze River were cut off by them, the "Turtle River" could not be dried, and the creatures from all over the world rushed to drink this life-saving water.

Mother Turtle knows that she can't save a few creatures with a little tear, so she goes to find nine suns to persuade them to return to heaven and not bring disaster to the world. But the nine suns surrounded the mother turtle and said fiercely, "Heaven is my father's day, and the earth is my mother's land. We can do whatever we want." If you meddle in our business again, you will end up like your son." Tortoise mother could not bear it. She practiced Taoism for millions of years. She swallowed one sun at a time and another one at a time.

Then the mother swallowed the third, the fourth and the fifth...

Mother Turtle swallowed up, and both eyes became red and red, swallowing Eight Suns in one go. The remaining one rolled in horror and hid under the leaves of a wild vegetable, which was later called "Portulaca oleracea" and feared neither drying nor drying. But the sun was found by the tortoise mother and swallowed it mercilessly.

The Emperor of Heaven did not have a general who could surrender to the Virgin Tortoise Mother. He had to come and beg the Mother of Tortoise to return his son, even one.

Mother Turtle thought that it was not a good thing that the ground was dark. She was so cruel that she decided to spit out a sun. Fearing that the sun would hurt everything again, she would destroy her Taoism, which she had practiced for many years, and turn it into a fairy spirit, wrapping the sun tightly. She also spits the sun into the East China Sea to let him taste the taste of being flooded and dare not do anything wrong again.

The tortoise mother spit out a sun, but the emperor did not forget to punish the tortoise mother who lost her way. He ordered Lei Gong to kill the tortoise mother with a copper hammer.

After the death of the mother tortoise, her body turned into a mountain, that is, the "Tortoise Peak Mountain" in Macheng. The people of Macheng do not forget the kindness of the tortoise mother. They still love to make their son a "tortoise" to show their memory of the mother and son of the tortoise.

The mother tortoise swallowed the sun to save all life, but also to preserve the reunion of all families. Mythology always reminds people of those ancient days. Without the internet, people's hearts are closer.
