In order to firmly establish the concept that green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains and strengthen the ecological protection and restoration of Guifeng mountain scenic spot, on July 21, 2021, Guifeng mountain scenic spot specially invited local forestry technicians to carry out forest protection training in the scenic spot.

Guifeng mountain scenic area is a national ecotourism demonstration area, with forest coverage rate as high as 95%. There are precious pine resources in the area. Pine wood nematode disease, known as pine cancer, is a devastating epidemic that endangers pines and other plants. The pathogenic nematodes enter the xylem from the wound and parasitize in the resin channel when they are supplemented by the vector insect Monochamus alternatus. After mass reproduction, they spread all over the whole plant, resulting in duct obstruction, plant water loss, reduced transpiration, and sharp reduction and stop of resin secretion. The whole plant wilts and the needle leaves turn red and brown one after another. Generally, pine trees can wither in more than 40 days after being infected, and pine trees can be destroyed in 3-5 years, which is highly diffusive and destructive.

Monochamus alternatus is the vector of pine wood nematode, which is a destructive disease of pine trees. It has strong host searching ability and can "track and chase" Monochamus alternatus in the trunk, so as to finally kill Monochamus alternatus and isolate the transmission vector of pine wood nematode disease. In the control, it is a green and environmental protection strategy to use the flower velvet beetle to control the vector insect of pine wood nematode disease. On the same day, all the staff of Guifeng Mountain Scenic Area shuttled between the mountains, forests and grass in the scenic area against the scorching sun, and put flower velvet and nail egg blocks, so as to contribute to reducing the population density of Monochamus alternatus and curbing the occurrence of pine wood nematode disease.

The training of the main body of forest protection, through practical actions, advocates that employees consciously practice the green lifestyle and take care of the forest resources around them. Next, Guifeng mountain scenic spot will continue to cooperate with local forestry technicians, constantly improve the prevention and control system, further improve the ecotourism quality of Guifeng mountain scenic spot, and provide a good tourism environment for tourists.
